Example # 7 ----14 Hour Rule (Complex Example #1)

Day 1.

Day 2.

BOTH THESE LOGS ARE LEGAL

In this example of a more complex 2-day trip where the driver is splitting off duty time in the sleeper berth. This driver has chosen to use the 6 hour sleeper berth period with the 8 hour sleeper berth period to make a legal sleeper berth split.

PLEASE NOTE:  Since the 2 hour sleeper berth period on Day 1 of this trip is not used as part of a legal sleeper berth split, it must be counted in the 14 hour calculation as if it were on-duty time.
