Example #4 ---- 14 Hour Rule
14 Hour Rule
AA driver may not drive beyond the 14th hour
after coming on-duty following 10 hours off-duty.
No violation on Day 1. Example of 14 consecutive hour rule. PLEASE NOTE: The 3 hour break from 10:00am - 1:00pm may be logged as sleeper, or off- duty, or a combination of off-duty/sleeper berth but it does not stop the 14 hour clock, and must be counted into the 14 hours. The 3 hour sleeper from 10:00am to 1:00pm dose not exclude (extended) from the 14 hour rule. The new rule is only a 8 hour sleeper BUT LESS THAN 10 hour sleeper will (MUST) exclude from the 14 hour rule.
